Tell us a little about. yourself
1. I’m a wife, a mom and a grandma of four boys; they are the sunshine of my life! I have been practicing yoga for a long time but always wish that I would have started even earlier than I did. I was in my forties when I began and I can honestly tell you that it is never too late to begin a yoga practice. The benefits are immense . . . an increase in focus and balance, an ease of moving and breathing, as well as a shedding of the clutter we allow to fill up our mind. I can tell you that as long as I’m breathing I will be doing some form of yoga!
What is your favorite style of yoga?
2. My favorite style of yoga is a juicy hot class! It’s physically challenging, incorporating heat into each of the postures and at the end you feel like you have really accomplished something. The side bonus is all that sweat! I must add that I like any yoga class that gets me moving, twisting and stretching.
How long should Savasana be?
3. The timing of savasana is personal. I have come to understand that the length of the ‘pose of the corpse’ depends on the style of yoga you just practiced, the time of day, and maybe even your schedule. If I had to put a number to it I would say at least 3-4 minutes so you can absorb the benefits of the physical practice, but if you can quiet your mind and body for 10 minutes even better.
When can we find you on the OTY schedule?
4. I teach hot yoga on Monday night and Saturday morning, please join us, we always have a great group of yogis that you can practice with.
