Program Details

2024 is the inaugural year of the One Tree Yoga Advanced Training and Development. Gabe and Alison have been co-teaching our 200-hour program for 10 years and feel the call to offer the next level of training. This program is designed to develop you both as a yoga student and a teacher of yoga. The curriculum is organized around strong personal practice and self-care, as well as digestible topics that can translate directly into your own teaching.

Each weekend will include several yoga practices, a chant, a pranayama, a meditation, an anatomy lesson, a philosophical or energetic inquiry, teaching methodology and small-group teaching, small group work and journaling with self-reflection. These weekends will be fully immersive and intended to help you advance your own personal practice and commitment to the art of yoga. You will continue your immersion into the yoga experience through 100 classes at One Tree Yoga over the course of the year. The cost for these classes are included in your tuition.

The 300-hour level of yoga teacher training is designed as an advanced certification for those who have already taken a 200-hour program. However, our program is organized in a way that you could take the 300-hour training before our 200-hour training.

Certification

This program exceeds the requirements for the Yoga Alliance RYT-300 Certification. Students who complete the program will receive a 300-hour certification from One Tree Yoga, a registered yoga school since 2003. Graduates of our program feel confident in their knowledge and ability to share it with others.


Program Requirements

  1. Establish a consistent yoga practice prior to the program.

  2. Attend all weekend courses for the duration of the program. If you have to miss some attendance, the content will be recorded and you must complete it on your own time before the next session.

  3. Attend 100 classes with Alison and Gabe (about 8 classes per month) from September 2024 through August 2025. Students should try to average 4 classes per month with each teacher over the 12-month period. Regular class attendance is integral to the practice & technique component of the curriculum. It also makes up a large percentage of contact hours required to complete the 300 hour program. The cost of this class attendance is included in your tuition.

  4. Complete monthly self-study, journaling and recorded content. These hours count toward 30 hours of self-directed study within the 300 hours.

  5. Complete all reading, writing, and teaching assignments.

  6. Teach 1 practice class at OTY for friends/family and other TT students and 4 additional classes in the community (you will set these classes up yourself).

  7. Complete two 15-minute Zoom check-ins during the program and maintain regular email communication with your OTY mentor.

  8. Complete all requirements within 3 months of the end of the program.

Program Pricing

Tuition includes unlimited yoga at One Tree Yoga for the duration of the program. The cost of our program is $3600.
We have 3 payment options:

One-Time Payment: 
One payment of $3600 by the start of the program. This includes a $200 non-refundable deposit.

2-Payment Plan: 
Two payments of $1,900 in September 2024 and March 2025. This includes a $200 non-refundable deposit.

Monthly Payment Plan: 
12 monthly payments of $325 for a total of $3900. This includes a $200 non-refundable deposit due by September.

Prorated refunds for tuition can be given through the end of Session 2 in October. No refunds are given after that date.

We have one half scholarship available for BIPOC students and one half scholarship available for work study trade. A written essay is required for both. The essay questions are: (1) Why do you want to do the program? (2) How will you use the knowledge gained in the program? (3) Describe future yoga plans/goals. Please email essays to info@onetreeyoga.com by August 1, 2024. Please specify which scholarship you are applying for. We will select a winner for each and email all who applied within a week.


Our Teachers

Gabe Hopp, E-RYT-500

Gabe started practicing hot yoga in the early 2000s and then swapped over to the full spectrum of practices when she found Theresa Murphy at One Tree Yoga. Gabe received her first 200-hour yoga teacher training in Prague, Czech Republic in 2010. Since then, she has trained extensively with master teachers throughout the United States including Tias and Surya Little, Linda Spackman, Nicholai Bachman, Rod Stryker, Ben Vincent, Christina Sell, Noah Maze and Amy Matthews. In 2012-2013, Gabe twice traveled to India to study yoga therapy with Svastha yoga teachers the Mohan’s. In the fall of 2017, Gabe finished her 500-hour certification to become a Prajna Yoga teacher. In 2024, Gabe began an additional 300-hour certification with Christina Sell which will be completed in December of this year. Gabe’s philosophy is that yoga is a life practice. One should view yoga practice with a broad scope to include meditation, prayer, chanting, singing, compassion in action, and breathing, as well as physical postures. Through a practice of yoga, we have the opportunity to discover our true nature and our purpose for being here (dharma). Most recently, Gabe has been honing the practice of acceptance. When Gabe is not at the yoga studio, she loves spending time with her husband Lucas and her 2 sons, Ralph and Teddy.

Alison King Tigges, E-RYT-500

Alison started practicing yoga in 2002. As an athlete and dancer, it seemed like a smart progression and way to heal from years of injuries. Under the direction of Theresa Murphy, Alison started teaching in 2008 at One Tree Yoga in Omaha, NE. Alison has been teaching a variety of styles there since: hot, hatha, vinyasa, yin, restorative…to name a few. Since 2013, Alison began to co-lead the studio’s 200-hour teacher training program. Alison has gone on to study with Tias Little and Prajna Yoga out of Santa Fe, NM, where she received her 500-hour certification in 2014. Alison still studies regularly with Noah Maze and YogaMaze, out of Los Angeles, CA. Alison’s commitment to training, learning and practicing all types of yoga is evident in her teaching. All of her classes include smart sequencing, strong cues on form, anatomy and alignment, as well as weaving in various aspects of yogic philosophy. While Alison’s teaching style is rooted in traditional yoga, she also brings an element of fun and light-heartedness to her classes. She believes yoga is truly for everyone, and her goal is to help as many people incorporate it into their lives as possible. Alison loves that OTY’s mission is to make yoga a life practice, both on and off the mat. Alison’s current practice is working with santosha (contentment). When Alison is not at the yoga studio, she loves spending time with her husband (J.J.) and her 2 children (Amelia and Leo).
